Question:
Your prints are more expensive than some that I've seen on the web.
Why is that?
Answer:
Our prints are all hand inked original pulls on handmade paper. Some
folks sell "posters" or pictures of their art. They are actually
mechanically reproduced posters of the same piece of art. When you
buy one of our fish prints you are getting an
original piece of art. All our
gyotaku prints are unique.
Question:
Where do you get your fish?
Answer:
We catch most of them ourselves. Sometimes friends bring us a fish.
Occasionally we will buy a fish at fish markets that save unusual fish for
us.
Question:
All you do is just paint the fish and slap it on a piece of paper, right? I
think I'll just make my own.
Answer:
Yup, that's the basic idea. Very simple in concept but, as with many
things, much more difficult in execution. We invite you to try it. Let us
know how it works out for you.
